COMMUNITY
At Matern, we are grateful for our past success and the ability to work with many wonderful clients. Because of this, we believe it is our duty to give back to the community as often as we can. We have been able to donate time, design services, and resources to many local charities, foundations, and philanthropies.
Helping people is one of our firm’s Core Values. Therefore, we have volunteer hours available for our staff to use to support the causes they are passionate about. Our employees serve on boards such as ACE Mentoring. They coordinate specialized donation collections for domestic violence and homeless shelters. They take on the role of Christmas Angels to make the Christmas of less fortunate children. From back-to-school drives to helping stock the shelves of local food pantries, our employees are out in the community making a difference.
We have donated and supported Arts Alive, Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Wounded Warrior Anglers of Cape Coral, Gulf Coast Humane Society, Naples Therapeutic Riding Center, St. Jude's Children’s Hospital, Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, The Little Red Wagon, Engineering Ministries International, Love-A-Child, CANStruction – Second Harvest Food Bank, United Diabetes Foundation, A Gift for Teaching, and the IOA Corporate 5K Run. In addition, we support educational foundations through golf tournament participation, specialized reception attendance, and sponsorships as well as school supply drives.
We embrace helping causes such as the Boys & Girls Club, Bowl-A-Thon, and Sarah’s Sporting Clays Against Cancer. Each year we host a “Tournament of Games” fundraiser to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at our corporate office.
Most of all we take pride in our ability to help provide safer spaces to those less fortunate in our community. Our in-kind engineering services have been donated to various organizations in need such as Pathways Drop-in Homeless Transition Center, Harbor House Women’s Shelter, United Cerebral Palsy Schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, Meals on Wheels, and Midway Safe Harbor.
