Matern provided full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and systems engineering design services for the $8 million, 26,000 square foot facility remodel and 14,000 square foot addition of Building H.
The Wellness Center includes areas for campus recreation, sports courts, locker rooms, a weight training area for the school's athletes, as well as office and meeting space. Borrelli + Partners, Inc. was the architect for this project while Gilbane Building Co. was the general contractor.
The 40-year-old facility, which previously housed the school’s athletics and intramural sports programs before being vacated in 2015, was remodeled and reconfigured in phases to accommodate the needs of the Athletic Department and the wellness/fitness needs of the College’s students and staff.
